I found this unit to be very useful. I am much happier getting the 12v pump with the water heater together since it is sized correctly for the unit. Been taking showers with it now for a few weeks at our off-grid cabin while we build our forever home nearby. I bought a small 12v battery that has it's own on/off switch, a 5-gallon bucket, and a small length of clear tubing for the over-pressure drain valve on the bottom of the water heater that feeds into the same bucket. So the only thing I will say is that temperature control is really based on the temperature of the water you freed it. I wait until just before I need a shower in this heat (80 -90 degree days) to pump water from my well so it's nice and cold. Because this water heater will make the water too hot even on the lowest setting if you don't start with relatively cool water. It heats whatever the temperature of the water is a set number of degrees warming (based on the red temp knob). A 5-gallon bucket is enough water for a comfortable shower, including shaving in the shower. I would highly recommend the unit WITH the pump, they just work well together. I also bought a nicer hand held shower head just to make it even better.

I ordered the Camplux 5L 1.32GPM heater along with 12-volt pump. I used a 1000L (275 gallon) water cube for water, picked up a $13 battery from Walmart, connected a solar-based trickle-charger that keeps the battery fully charged in the New Mexico high desert, and then connected it all together. I built a wooden structure around it, and a porous floor with stones underneath for drainage and used some canvas fabric for the summer since wood is currently outrageously expensive. I know have an amazing summer shower.It worked the very first time. Once the water pressure kicks in from the 12-volt DC pump, the heater detects it, and kicks on as well and within 30 seconds heated water is pouring out. Plan on using 5-10 gallons of water per shower as it's quite enjoyable outside. The water is a bit hot, and I am trying to find the right blend of water pressure and propane gas to keep the water from being too hot.Solar-powered, off-grid hybrid shower solution. Pretty cool and the fact it worked the first time is amazing.

Ok this product makes my life better !I work concrete construction and after a hard day on the job my outdoor shower is something to look forward to!I purchased a extended propane hose so the propane bottle could be hidden, got a splitter for the house made the shower and your all set!It’s very adjustable..can get very hot if you want...The only thing that I can complain about is the vent is very wind sensitive... a stiff breeze will blow out the flames..I rectified the situation by getting a piece of tin to partially cover it when it’s windy and when it cools to cover it from rain.The shower head turns it on and off with a button on the handle...it fires right up and I get hot water in 5 seconds..Enjoy !You won’t be disappointed

So far I'm loving this portable on-demand hot water heater. We use it to get our spa to temperature quickly and even warm up the pool!Normally with the portable spa heater it can take anywhere from 8 to 15 hours to heat it to 102 degrees depending on starting temperature . This little heater can get it up to temp in one half to one hour depending on starting temperature. Its so easy to use and ignites first time every time. Its been the answer to our prayers. A tank of Propane last quite awhile too. I've been using it a couple of months now and no problems. The hand held shower is really nice too, gives decent pressure and gas a water pause button to boot. I"ll update if anything Changes with it. Overall I'm very impressed with it. Update, still working awesome!! First use of the summer it fired right up. Still really impressed with this little water heater.

I ordered this to take camping in Maine, but as luck would have it, our hot water heater broke at our house. I set the Camplux up in my makeshift backyard shower and was able to take a nice hot shower until the house hot water heater was replaced. It was easy to set up and use. I used the hose from the house spicket, and the water temperature was very easy to regulate - not too hot or cold. I was VERY happy to have it. I have yet to use it camping but am hopeful it will work just as well from a different water source.

After reading a lot of reviews I pulled the plug and dragged this up north to my pole barn. This made a huge difference in luxury for an off grid retreat. Simple to hook up and clear directions. I took a wonderful shower in about 2.5 gallons and never felt cheated. Worth every penny.

Installed for use in an outdoor shower and I cannot say I am disappointed. Some of the connections and seals feel cheap, but they seem to be holding well. The shower head connection also leaks, but this can be avoided at the sacrifice of some water pressure. The included pump does not include connections, it will need to be wired into whatever you choose. Overall I am impressed with this hot water heater and would purchase again!

Bought to heat my spa instead of electricity. Works great. Only thing the pump does not come with a power source only wires. Had to rig up a car battery to power it for now. A 12v 3amp adapter should work have to buy on first.

This is a major step up from solar shower bags. I feel so blessed when I pull this baby out to heat up couple gallons of water anytime of the day. It took a bit of time and mental focus to read through the instructions and set up but now that I understood the operations it is easier to set up. There are series of steps to set up and take down.The water does get hot QUICK! So watch out for that. Also, I am not loving the pump being loud and sometime stop working (times when I need it to pump). The shower head does output an abundance of flow and can drain through your supply fast.My process now is to fill up the shower bag with water, insert the hot water output and cold water intake hose directly into the bag, and heat up that amount of water until I am satisfied. This way, I can manage how much water I use and what temperature I like it to be.I do prefer the heater control knobs to have a temperature digital display for convenience.Also to mention customer service was wonderful and knows what we are going through. Kudos to you! Just a hot shower at the end of a long day can be a gift to appreciate for the moments of living this life.

This unit delivers hot water. It’s easy to set up and was just what we wanted. The only downside is the hose for the shower spray is just too short. We will replace this before we go camping next. Other than that it’s the trick!!

I received it in June and didnt test it until August. At first the heater didnt work but everything else did. I had to reach out to Camplux customer service for help and they let me know that the pump that I use with the unit needs to have a certain pressure called PSI. The one I was using didnt meet the standard. As soon as I hooked up a pump that did everything worked as expected. The bottom cover plate that you see in the advertisements was missing, but Camplux said it is no longer needed and does not ship with the unit anymore. I am not sure that I believe this explanation and it seems that having it wide open at the bottom isnt the best thing. The advertisement should be updated to let us know that this piece is no longer included and explain why. As a result, I am giving a 4 star instead of 5 star rating.

This is great for camping. The hose to the shower head is a bit short, I simply added a few extra feet to accomplish what I needed. Lowest heat setting and maximum water flow provides a great temp for a shower. The heat can be turned to max and the water flow to min and it produces scalding hot water, great for adding to some cold water for washing dishes etc.. highly recommend this product.

My unit came with a slight defect. Customer service was friendly and went above and beyond in getting me a replacement promptly. Honestly one of the better customer experiences I've dealt with in this day and age of online sales and messages! My current unit works like a charm providing hot water in all corners of the US.One note for purchasers, while the unit and all hoses are included makes things simple, you will still need to electrically power the water pump that comes as well. No big hassle but you will need some electrical wiring and knowledge to connect it to your power source
